In this 2-day workshop, Jing Lian, MD and I will share with you TEAM-CBT tools and processes for effectively helping clients with depression and anxiety. This is an interactive training with live demos and practice sessions to bring the tools and healing processes to life. Openness to doing your own personal work will deepen your understanding of the material.

    • Two 10-min breaks

  • 12 TEAM-CBT Certification Units

  • You must attend live and engage in the practice sessions. CEs only for live attendance. There will not be a recording.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify 2 ways to measure clients' mood and the therapeutic connection.

  2. Describe and practice 5 empathy tools to deepen connection and safety with your clients.

  3. Identify and practice 2 ways to effective address resistance and improve motivation to change.

  4. Use the Recovery Circle to instill hope and provide direction for the healing process.

  5. Describe and practice one cognitive tool (Examine the Evidence)

  6. Describe and practice 2 role-play methods (Double Standard and Externalization of Voices)

  7. Identify 1 cognitive (Examine the Evidence), 1 behavioral (Pleasure Predicting Sheet), and the hidden emotion tool.

About the Trainer: Jian Lian

Jing Lian is a Level 3 TEAM-CBT therapist and a leading expert in the field of complex childhood trauma. Drawing from both professional training and personal healing from depression and anxiety, Jing is deeply committed to helping individuals address the root causes of emotional suffering and experience lasting transformation.

Having trained under world-renowned experts including David D. Burns, Daniel Amen, and James Greenblatt, Jing integrates evidence-based approaches with compassion and deep empathy. She is especially passionate about TEAM-CBT because of its structured, results-driven, and relational approach, which empowers clients to achieve rapid and meaningful change.

In addition to her clinical work, Jing is devoted to training and equipping helpers—particularly within the Chinese community—to effectively support those struggling with trauma, anxiety, and depression. Her mission is to multiply impact by raising up skilled, compassionate practitioners who can bring healing, hope, and connection to others.

About the Trainer: Thai-An Truong, LPC, LADC

Thai-An Truong helps therapists improve their confidence and effectiveness in their healing work with clients. She is a Certified TEAM-CBT Therapist & Trainer, Level 5 and IFS Therapist, Level 3. TEAM-CBT was created by Dr. David Burns and has been life-changing for her, both professionally and personally. She loves integrating IFS, ACT, and memory reconsolidation to guide our clients toward transformational change. In her private practice, she specializes in the treatment of trauma and OCD.

Refund Policy

Refund Policy: There are no refunds for on demand courses and products. You can receive a refund for live courses if you cancel at least 2 weeks before the event start date. Refunds will be issued in full, minus a 5% processing fee. There are no refunds for live courses that have already started.

CE Certificates: NBCC CE certificates are issued free of charge for those who have attended a training in full and completed the feedback form on time (within 5 days after the training ends). For participants needing partial credit, there will be a $25 fee for creating a separate certificate for you. For those needing a CE certificate after the feedback form deadline, you must also pay the $25 fee for the feedback form to be turned back on and a separate certificate sent to you.

This fee is only for participants needing CE Certificates with partial credit or after the feedback form deadline. The NBCC board requires missing no more than 15 minutes of a workshop to get full credit.
