Day 1 (Feb 20th)
Identify common misconceptions & pitfalls in working with OCD.
Recognize obstacles to OCD diagnosis & specialized treatment.
Describe the importance of a structured therapy approach for OCD.
List/describe the four components of TEAM-CBT as a framework for treatment.
Identify three assessment tools commonly used in diagnosis & progress monitoring of OCD.
Demonstrate two types of empathy in inquiring about specific symptoms of OCD using the Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS).
Day 2 (Feb 27th)
Recognize case vignettes of three OCD presentations.
List & describe two evidence-based treatments for adults with OCD, two for children.
Explain three differences between Exposure & Ritual Prevention (ERP) and Inference-based CBT.
Describe principles & methods of Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions.
Explain the importance of homework in OCD treatment.
Discuss situations that favor use of ERP, ICBT, or SPACE for a particular case.
Identify resources for continuing education and case consultation in evidence-based practice.
Bridget Hannahan, PhD has over 30 years of experience as a clinical psychologist. Certified as a Level 3 TEAM-CBT provider, she specializes in this model of cognitive behavioral therapy. In recent years, she has focused on OCD with additional training and experience using Inference-based CBT (ICBT) and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). Dr. Hannahan’s passion is teaching other therapists TEAM-CBT methods, recognition of OCD in all its manifestations, and use of evidence-based approaches in treating OCD. She is based in Alabama, with Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) in all participating PsyPACT states.
Dr. Hannahan is working toward her TEAM-CBT Level 4 Trainer certification, under the supervision of Thai-An Truong, LPC, LADC, Certified TEAM-CBT Therapist & Trainer, Level 5.
